HI! I’M KATHERINE...

but my friends call me Kathy. I’m an actor, a writer, a former podcaster and used-to-be singer. (I mean, I can carry a tune decently now, but that’s about all I’d claim.)

I’m 100% Puerto Rican, which my friends know, but strangers never guess. I learned Spanish as a grown-up. It’s not perfect, but decent, and I love speaking it when I can.  I’m very coordinated. Like, physical things like waterskiing and archery and skeet shooting – things I’ve never really spent much time doing – come fairly easily to me. And I’m a decent mimic. I could probably imitate you if you gave me a few hours with you. Oh, and I’m secretly very competitive on the treadmill at Orangetheory Fitness. Like, I’ll peek at your screen to see if you’re running faster than I am.

I began acting professionally in my twenties and thirties. On stage, I performed lots of different roles in sweaty little black box theaters and lovely stages, including a fun run of The A-Train Plays at Playwrights Horizons (which got me my Actors Equity card). I am proud to have performed over 44 (mostly) different costar roles on the New York soaps (which got me my AFTRA card). And I did quite a bit of commercial work back then, too (which got me my SAG card).

I took time off to get married, move to the suburbs and raise three babies, and then came back after everything in the business went electronic.  (No more printing headshots at Reproductions!) A few years after that, I went into COVID lockdown like everyone else and learned how to self-tape.

Now, I am thrilled to be back – and working!  Recent roles include the supporting role of Dana in the independent feature film, Trouble-in-Law, a social worker wearing a very fancy coat to a child removal in General Hospital, and politician Diana Montoya in Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+.
